About Sheikh Zoubir

Sheikh Zoubir Bouchikhi At-Tlemcani has a gift for getting his students excited about the Qur'an and Sunnah because he has a strong ability, not only to impart the knowledge by translating and reflecting on the Qur'anic verses and hadith, but to make an impact on his students by profoundly relating it to the problems of the 21st century. 

Sheikh Zoubir is an Islamic teacher and scholar whose purpose is to inspire his students to change by adhering to the wonderful values and beliefs within the Qur'an & Sunnah and truely take Islam as a creed and a way of life.

As quoted by a student of his for 13 years, "His heart and soul are invested into his classes as he sincerely wishes for us (his students) to go to Paradise. He is not here to solely impart knowledge but to inspire us to change to become part of the Muslim Ummah that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) envisioned."

Education & Qualifications:

As a young child, he found himself growing up in the Masjid in his hometown of Tlemcan, Algeria surrounded by scholars and Shuyukh who imparted knowledge and perspective of the lessons and values found within the Qur'an & Sunnah

Higher Education:

• In 1991, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Usul Al Fiqh (Shariah Sciences) from Al Amir Abdul Kadir Islamic University in Constantine, Algeria.
• In 1995, he earned a Master's degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
• In 1999, he earned a second Master of Arts in Islamic Studies and Social Sciences from the Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences (GSISS) in collaboration with Howard University situated in Leesburg, Virginia (USA).

From 1999 through 2011, he served as Imam, Lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies, Youth Coordinator, and Counselor in Greater Houston, Texas.

Currently, he is the Director of the Institute of Quran and Sunnah Studies and a Da’ee of Islam in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

He is also the President of the Riyad Al Jannah Association which is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to assisting Asnaf in Malaysia & Muslim refugees escaping perilous situations and persecution in their homelands.
